Be confident you’ve chosen the right care provider for you.
We’ve pulled together our top 10 questions to ask any care provider. It’s a really useful checklist to help guide you through the process. We’ve also included a quick snapshot of the answers we would give if you asked us, so you’ve got an idea of the sort of things to look out for.
Below is a selection from the top 10 questions to get your started:
Will I be tied into a contract?
A&B: No, you won’t have any minimum contract; you can cancel at any time, we just ask for 1 weeks’ notice. You can also cancel any visit up to 48 hours’ before it is due to take place. When it comes to finding the right support, we understand how important flexibility is.
Key things to look out for:
- Contract length/tie-ins
- Care package cancellation notice period
- Single visit cancellation notice period
Are you flexible if I need to increase/decrease my level of support?
A&B: This is a key question to ask. You can change the length or frequency of your visits anytime to ensure you have the support you need. We just ask for 48 hours’ notice if you wish to cancel or change a specific visit.
Key things to look out for:
- Ease of changing length/frequency of visits
- Notice period for changing/cancelling a visit
How will it work alongside care I currently have in place?
A&B: You decide how much help you need. You will receive a fully flexible service from us – we aim to complement and support any existing care given by family or friends, giving as much, or as little support as needed.
Key things to look out for:
- Flexibility to work alongside existing care from friends/family/other
What services are charged as extras?
A&B: You will always know where you stand with us. Our prices always include the cost of the time we spend with you and the cost of the time and mileage relating to getting to and from your visits. We don’t charge for any reviews or assessments either. We would only charge additional costs if they relate to extended visits or to travel involved during the visit such as for a shopping trip or an outing.
Key things to look out for:
- Transparency of pricing – look for clear outline of all chargeable elements and details of the frequency of charges
- Charges for review or assessment visits
